We are delighted to announce that the Akira Project 2023 has exceeded its target of 50 pigs and successfully acquired 51 pigs for distribution. We are extremely grateful to all the donors, who can be classified into five categories:
- Donors from the USA donated 9pigs plus Marleen for donating 1 pig and Greitje for donating 2 pigs during our yearly December online fundraising campaign.
- Netherlands friends of Karina: A group of Karina's friends generously donated 10 pigs in celebration of her birthday.
- Friends of Birget Kebbel from Roth, Germany: During HFHF Founder Noel S. Odenwald's visit in April 2023, the community in Roth collected 8 pigs as a contribution.
- Herkested, Groningen, Netherlands friends of Grietje: Grietje's friends from Herkested kindly donated 10 pigs, during the small concert prepared by Grietje and Aline.

We have a well-defined and transparent method for implementing the project and providing reports to our sponsors. Here is how we do it:
1. Random Tag Number Selection: We randomly choose a tag number from a box. The selected number corresponds to the earring number of the pig.
2. Sponsor-Number Assignment: The chosen tag number is then assigned to the name of the sponsor who donated that particular pig.
Photo Sharing: We share photos of the pigs on our social media platforms and also send them directly to the sponsors through inboxes or private messages.
This process ensures transparency and allows sponsors to see the pig they have sponsored, creating a direct connection between the sponsors and the project.

We are creating a sense of tree ownership among young children, cultivating their love for nature and working towards a better future for the world.
Our initiative involves giving fruit trees to these children and explaining that they become the owners of the trees, responsible for their care and well-being. We strongly believe that those who are fortunate enough to witness the successful growth of their trees and enjoy the fruits will benefit greatly.
This effort serves as both a contribution to the fight against climate change and an endeavor to combat malnutrition.
We kindly request a contribution of 35 US dollars or 35 Euros to purchase a 20kg piglet for a family, and 5 US dollars or 5 Euros for a fruit tree to be given to a child. The total donation amount is 40 US dollars or 40 Euros for a complete gift.
You can conveniently make an online donation on our website.

3. Our prompt response to the rain-floods in the western province of Rwanda in May 2023.
This small videos highlights the recent rain floods in Rubavu district.
The devastating floods have caused significant loss of life, tragically claimed 135 lives in the western province. Additionally, many people have been displaced from their homes and forced to seek shelter in camps with the tents.
In response, the Home for Hope Foundation focused its efforts on addressing the health needs of the affected population, particularly emphasizing sanitation. We made every effort to ensure that everyone received necessary medical attention, especially children under the age of five.
Three years ago, we collaborated with various NGOs and institutions to implement a comprehensive program aimed at controlling Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) in 17 districts of Rwanda. This program is reaching over 83,000 children.
This Graph down explains how this program works:
